【摘要】:Anacceleratedtestfordeterminingtheresistanceofinteriorcoatingstomoldgrowthisusefulinestimatingtheperformanceofcoatingsdesignedforuseininteriorenvironmentsthatpromotemoldgrowthandinevaluatingcompoundsthatmayinhibitsuchgrowthandtheaggregatelevelsfortheiruse(seealsoNote1).Thistestmethodshouldpreferablybeusedbypersonswhohavehadbasicmicrobiologicaltraining.FIG.1EnvironmentalCabinetAssembly1.1Thistestmethoddescribesasmallenvironmentalchamberandtheconditionsofoperationtoevaluatereproduciblyina4-weekperiodtherelativeresistanceofpaintfilmstosurfacemoldfungi,mildewgrowthinasevereinteriorenvironment.Theapparatusisdesignedsoitcanbeeasilybuiltorobtainedbyanyinterestedpartyandwillduplicateresultsobtainedinalargetropicalchamber.1.2Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoevaluatethecomparativeresistanceofinteriorcoatingtoacceleratedmildewgrowth.Performanceatacertainrating(inaccordancewithTestMethodD3274)doesnotimplyanyspecificperiodoftimeforafungalfreecoating.However,abetterratedcoatingnearlyalwaysperformsbetterinactualenduse.Note1--Thistestmethodisintendedfortheacceleratedevaluationofaninteriorcoatings''resistancetofungaldefacement.Useofthistestmethodforevaluatingexteriorcoatings''performancehasnotbeenvalidated,norhavethelimitationsforsuchusebeendetermined.Shouldthistestmethodbeusedforthetestingofanexteriorcoatingsystem,aprecautionarystatementregardinginterpretationofresultsasbeingoutsideofthescopeofthistestmethodmustbeincluded.Anyacceleratedweathering(leaching,weatheringmachineexposure,etc.,)shouldbereportedandshouldalsobearreferencetothefactthatitisbeyondthecurrentscopeofthistestmethod.1.3Temperatureandhumiditymustbeeffectivelycontrolledwithintherelativelynarrowlimitsspecifiedinorderforthechambertofunctionreproduciblyduringtheshorttestperiod.Severityandrateofmoldgrowthonafilmisafunctionofthemoisturecontentofboththefilmandthesubstrate.Arelativehumidityof95to98%atatemperatureof32.5+1oC(90+2oF)isnecessaryfortestpanelstodeveloprapidlyandmaintainanadequatemoistureleveltosupportmoldgrowth.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
